JOB DESCRIPTION

As a junior staff accountant, you will primarily be engaged in compilation engagements for small to medium sized private companies. You will also be responsible for preparing personal and corporate tax returns. Direct client contact is encouraged and supported and will help you get the full “public practice” experience.

The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong work ethic.  They should be detail-oriented and have the ability to solve problems independently. Job functions include:

• Preparation of working paper files for Notice to Reader financial statements and corporate income tax returns
• Preparation of personal income tax returns
• Bookkeeping for clients

As a Senior Accountant you will primarily be engaged in compilation, review and audit engagements for small to medium sized private companies. Candidates need to have 1 to 2 years of public practice experience. You will also be responsible for preparing personal and corporate tax returns. Direct client contact is encouraged and supported. Travel to client sites may be required.

As a manager, you will primarily be engaged in compilation engagement for small to medium sized businesses.  You will be responsible for reviewing personal and corporate tax returns and on certain occasions prepare complicated returns and tax planning memos.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The candidate should possess excellent verbal and oral communication skills and a strong work ethic.  You should be detail oriented and have the ability to solve problems independently.  Job functions include:

• Review of Notice to Reader, Review Engagement and Audit files in an efficient manner with minimal Partner involvement
• Plan engagements and lead teams in an efficient and effective manner
• Review of Corporate and Personal income tax returns
• Ability to research accounting, auditing and income tax issues
• Supervise and train junior staff promoting learning and effectiveness
• Excellent customer service skills as this position will require extensive client contact

COMPETENCIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

• CPA designation
• 4 or more years of work experience in public practice in a small to medium sized accounting firm with at least one year of reviewing Notice to Reader files
• Very proficient in Caseware, Caseview, Profile or Tax Prep
• Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to multitask, meet deadlines and manage a large volume of clients
• Strong analytical and research skills in accounting
• Strong communication skills and time management skills.
• Effective communicator and articulate
• Displays enthusiasm and passion
• Effective – ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure
• Accountable – take responsibility of client deadlines and goals; and highly organized and efficient
• Experience in a paperless office is an asset
